Natural nursery photography in Surrey

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We woke up to a scattering of snow on Saturday morning and my boys had a great time making snow angels in the garden and building tiny snowmen!

It’s been a while since I shared any commercial work with you, so I thought I would share some nursery photography that I did last summer. I work with one nursery each year, and I spend a morning or two there photographing the children. No backdrops, no flashing lights…just me, my camera and the children.

I remember when my eldest was at nursery, they had the photographer in and he refused to sit on the stool in front of the lights and have his photo taken. So she didn’t manage to get any photos of him at all. I know a lot of other parents I’ve spoken to have had the same experience. It’s pretty intimidating for a toddler to go and sit on a stool in front of some bright flashing lights so I totally see whey they wouldn’t be up for it!

So I make sure that the children’s experience with me is very different. I chat to them and have a giggle with them, but if they are feeling shy, that’s fine too. I just photograph them from a distance. Either way the parents all end up with some lovely photographs of their children.

I hope looking through these these happy faces puts a smile on yours!

You can see other examples of nursery photography I have done here and here.

I’m looking to work with one lovely nursery in the Haslemere or Farnham area of Surrey this year. So if your child goes to a nursery in this area and you would love photos of them like this then please get in touch!
