I hope 2019 is being kind to you so far. I don’t think I can say happy new year now it’s mid-Jan, can I?
The year has started off for me in a flurry of activity, as I always use this time to work on all of the things I don’t get time when I’m chocca with shoots and editing. And also I have the small matter of our first ever live podcast event this Saturday where we are recording our podcast Shoot Edit Chat Repeat, live in front of an audience of 60 people in London, aarrggh! I’m really excited about it, with a healthy dose of nerves thrown in for good measure too!
After spending the last couple of months last year with a bad neck injury (thankfully better now), I decided to start the year with a 30 day yoga challenge with the YouTube star ‘Yoga with Adriene’. Have you heard of her? She’s just great, and I never thought I’d say it, but I actually look forward to my 6.30am yoga sessions in the dark! Maybe it’s just because it’s new for me – let’s see how long it lasts!
Anyway, as the title of this blog post hinted at, I recently had some exciting magazine coverage. The editor of Practical Photography magazine (the UK’s biggest photography title no less!) contacted me at the end of last year and commissioned me to write an article for them about how to take better photos of your own family.
Here are a few photos of the article, I was so pleased with how it came out. It’s the February edition so will still be in the shops for a couple more weeks if you want to get your hands on the full article.
And I also wanted to share my brand new video for my Delight Retreat that I run once a year for professional photographers. Even if you’re not a photographer, hopefully you’ll enjoy watching this 1 minute video of what we get up to. To get all of the details of my next Delight Retreat in September 2019, just enter your details here.
I just wanted to give you a quick update on availability. My weekend shoots are now fully booked until September as well as all of my spring and summer mini sessions. If you want to hear about future mini session dates, make sure you get yourself on my list at the bottom of this post. I only email a couple of times a year, but it’s the only way to hear about my mini session mornings before they get booked up!
I have availability for weekday sessions from March onwards for custom family sessions, so book a date now if you would like a session with me this spring or summer.
If you are thinking of booking a branding shoot for your business this year, get your hands on my new guide ‘8 tips to prepare for your personal branding shoot.’ You can see more details here about my personal branding shoots.
If you would love to have a gorgeous new headshot of yourself, I have just announced my next headshot photography mornings in Guildford in March and May.
And if you would love to learn how to take gorgeous photos of your own family (maybe you got a shiny new camera for Christmas?) then join me at my next Photography for Parents workshop in Cobham, Surrey on 1st March.
Phew, no wonder I’ve been so busy! 😉
I hope you have a great rest of the week.
Enter your details below to be added to my mini session mailing list. I’ll only email you a few times each year when I announce new mini sessions.
