I hope you’re having a great summer. Normally we’re all whining about the British summer weather but I don’t feel like we can whinge this year, it’s been lovely! I’ve been having such a nice time with my boys, I really do love the summer holidays.

Don’t get me wrong, come September I’m sure I’ll be grateful for a return to routine, but right now I’m so enjoying the lazy mornings and fun activities with my boys. It’s so much easier now they are 8 and 6 years, no buggies or nappies to cart around everywhere!

So far we’ve pretty much done a tour of the south coast….Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Kent! And then we’re off to the South of France towards the end of the summer holidays which I’m really excited about. Sunshine and French wine – the perfect combination!

I wanted to share with you some of the photos from the family shoots I did in the lavender fields last month. It was so lovely to have 4 returning families that I have photographed before, I love seeing how the children have grown up.

It can be a challenge to shoot in the lavender fields due to the lack of shade, the bees and the amount of people who flock to the fields, but it’s definitely worth it for the stunning purple backdrop.

Nothing beats lots of love and smiles in a sea of purple!

I only spend one morning at the lavender fields shooting each year and the sessions sell out really quickly.
