It’s been a busy start to 2016 for me so far, with lots of workshops and shoots. I also ran a masterclass for professional photographers last weekend at Europe’s largest photography convention. I’m very used to talking in front of 8 or 9 parents in my photography workshops, but standing up and speaking in front of 70 professional photographers was definitely out of my normal comfort zone! But it went brilliantly and Eddie & I were so happy with the lovely feedback we received afterwards. We’d put a lot of effort into the class and it sounded like that showed, so it was all worth it in the end! Nothing like starting off a year by throwing yourself out of your comfort zone! So my grand plans for spending January getting up to date with my blogging of last year’s shoots didn’t really happen! But I’m making up for that today by sharing a shoot from last summer that I just loved. I photographed this family once before back in 2013 (you can see their last session here) so it was lovely to see them all again and see how much the little ones had grown!

I always love that look of wonder and shyness I get from little children when they first look up into my camera…the shyness never normally lasts long once they realise I also am very capable of acting like a 4 year old!

I wanted to show you a lot of images from their session so you can see the difference between a custom session (like this one) and one of my mini sessions which take place on specific mornings during the year.

The family ordered lots of gorgeous frames to go with the ones from their previous shoot. They also ordered this stunning fine art album displaying photos from both of their shoots with me. I shamefully didn’t get a chance to take ‘proper’ photos of it before it went to it’s new home, but hopefully you can get a feel for how beautiful it is just from these iPhone photos.
