Meet Vicki

I hope you had a wonderful Easter break. I definitely over-did it with the chocolate and I think we still have about 5 eggs in the house which isn’t good when I get a chocolate craving with a coffee!

I’m so pleased it’s warming up for the summer now and there is some lovely colour around. Due to the warm March we had, the bluebell season is about 2 weeks earlier than normal this year…good old mother nature keeping us on our toes!

I still have lots of sessions to share with you from last year. I had planned to blog a lot more in my quieter period of Dec-Mar but instead I was busy working on our new little venture…our holiday cottage in Ventnor, Isle of Wight. I know it’s nothing really to do with family photography (although I did take all of the photos for it!) but I thought I would mention it as I’ve already had quite a few of my lovely clients book up this summer for the family holidays! My husband and I purchased the cottage in December and I’ve really enjoyed refurbishing it and getting it all ready for our first guests. I do love a bit of interior design as well as photography!

Anyway, back to my family shoots as I’m sure that’s what you came here for!

This session took place at the end of May last year and we were lucky to have a beautifully sunny day. I’m so lucky to have the loveliest clients! I really enjoyed spending a Saturday morning with this family.

We started the session at the family home. If families have some nice green space near their house, I love to meet at their home first so the children can show me their favourite toys and we can start chatting and getting to know each other. Normally within about 10 minutes the awkward looks have gone and they are treating me like an old friend!

Then after a few photos inside we walked down to their local park. It’s always lovely to shoot in an area where a family spend lots of time together…lots of happy memories when they look back at the photos in the future!

Although my style is generally very expressive, colourful and happy, that doesn’t mean that I don’t love those soulful black & white shots too. With one of my custom sessions like this one, families get around 50 photos in their gallery to choose from, with soulful shots like those above along with the happy, connected shots that I’m well known for!

photography-framesAs well as lots of gift prints and the full digital collection of images, the family also ordered lots of lovely wall products from their shoot.

I managed to snap this photo on my iPhone before I delivered the products to them.

`This is my Quad Wall Display which I introduced last year…it’s a stunning way to display photos so I’m not surprised by how popular it’s proven to be!

Now I’ve finished all my work on the cottage, I’m hoping to have a bit more time to blog some more sessions. Although now my busy shooting season has started I think I’m being a little optimistic! I did some spring sessions a couple of weeks ago which I’ll share with you soon, and have another morning of them next weekend.

Hope you have a lovely rest of the week,
