I had a great response to the post I wrote in December demonstrating the value of a great headshot. As a result, I’ve had some fantastic headshot sessions in January (and lots more to come in February) and I’m hoping to share some of these with you over the next few months.
I’ve met some amazing ladies (yes, they are all ladies – not sure why!) and each session has been so much fun. This session I’m going to feature in this post was with the lovely and vivacious Fiona MacDuff from Kifi Creative. She wanted some fab new headshots for her new website and wanted them to be on brand. And her brand is sweet, straightforward and savvy. I love an exciting brief to work with!
We met for a coffee in Kingston-upon-Thames first so I could find out more about her business and the kind of images she was after. I always love to get to know my clients first….I never like sticking a camera in their faces as soon as we meet!
We then strolled around the town centre, looking for great backgrounds and lighting for the photos. It was freezing but luckily we were chatting non-stop so that kept us pretty warm!
As the before and after images in my last post went down so well, I thought I would do it again! So here on the left is the image that Fi had been using on her website and on the right is her new headshot from our session.
What a difference! Just goes to show that you don’t need a huge makeover, or even professional make up and hair done. You just need a photographer who knows what they’re doing! The right lighting can make a huge difference to a headshot. You can see this new headshot in action on the ‘about’ section of Fiona’s gorgeous new website.
Here are some other shots from our session.
I just love it when around half way through the session, any nervousness or self-consciousness that was there at the beginning has completely disappeared, and you start capturing the ‘real’ person. Love these.
Thank you Fiona for allowing me to use your before & after shots and for being a fab headshot victim! I’m looking forward to working with you again in the future. x
